Welcome to plunge into an intense summer of yoga. The first and third part takes place in Stockholm and the second part by in Murcia, in the south of Spain, where we’ll do our yoga practice on a lovely roof top with a panoramic view over the Mediterranean Sea
In this course you will deepen your knowledge in the studies of asanas, anatomy, philosophy, biomechanics and communication skills. After completion, you’ll be able to register with The Yoga Alliance as a RYT-200, making your certification recognizable worldwide. Additional courses and programs following the 200-hour program are also offered, which can be used in order to qualify for a 500-hour teacher certification.

Please note that this teacher training is very intense. You have to be prepared to absorb a lot of information during a short period of time.

When?
Part one:
In Stockholm. Friday 27th of May to Monday 6th of June 2016.
Part two: In Spain. Arrive on Friday 17th of June.
Classes/lectures: Saturday 18th of June to Saturday 2nd of July 2016.
Part three: In Stockholm. Thursday 18th of August to Saturday 20th of August 2016.

Where?
– In Stockholm, Sweden at Yoga Shakti and Hälsan Hus

– And at the Virya Yoga Centre in Isla Plana, Puerto de Mazarron, Murcia, Spain. The nearest airports are Murcia or Alicante. Read more about the centrethe area and the accommodation in Spain (in Swedish).

How?
The training will be in English.

Since this is a very intense teacher training course, you have to make sure you’re prepared to do a lot of studying. This means that this is not a yoga holiday/retreat, more an convent experience :-) Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions about this: info@nordiskyoga.se.

The teacher training course.

Regular price (from the 1st of January):  35 000 SEK.

– Option 2 (we have a limited number of places for option two)
Teacher training,  accommodation in Spain – in Sweden you organize it- (shared with 4 people), flights & transfers (on specific dates) is included in the price.

Main teachers at the intensive course in Spain
Our teachers have years of experience in practicing, teaching, and lecturing in yoga. They are in touch with their mentors in the USA and UK on a regular basis, to get updates and guidance to new questions that may arise during the course.

Josephine Selander porträttJosephine Selander (asana practice, biomechanics, teaching skills,  pranayama, communication, voice technique, pedagogy) E-RYT 500 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher), who is the head teacher for the Virya yoga course, has done her teacher training courses in Anusara yoga and Ashtanga yoga in the USA. Highly appreciated for her extensive knowledge and joyful spirit, she has been instructing other yoga teachers for years. Presently, Josephine runs the Nordic Yoga Institute RYS (Registered Yoga School). She continues to study with John Friend, Doug Keller as well as with her mentor Sundari and philosophy advisor Carlos Pomeda. Other influential teachers have been Pattabhi Jois, Sarawati Jois, Usha Devi, Patricia Walden, Larry Schultz, Dharma Mitra, Rusty Wells, Cyndi Lee, and Kia Meux. Josephine is the author of Dynamisk Yoga (Dynamic Yoga) and Våga Yoga (It’s all Yoga!), and her third book, Yoga Från Insidan (Yoga from Within), was released in 2010. In these books the reader is introduced to Virya yoga’s three series. In 2007 she taught Virya yoga in more than 60 episodes of “Äntligen Yoga” on Swedish TV4. As a former actress she has over ten years of experience in teaching communication and presentation techniques for big companies

Robin_NYIRobin Tåg (anatomy, asana practice, biomechanics)Robin is a physical therapist and Virya teacher, currently working towards his 500 hour certification. He has a background in geriatric, neurologic and podiatric physical therapy, and has also worked with knee and hip related problems, as well as rehabilitation for people with balance and back dysfunction. Robin has his own private practice in Stockholm, where he combines physical therapy with yoga. In his work, Robin focuses on rehabilitation for musculoskeletal problems, injury prevention and yoga therapy. He also works as a personal trainer.  Robin is one of the anatomy teachers, and part of the Rehab-team.
